We support high school students with work experience placements commencing in June and November/December each year. As a work experience student you will have the opportunity to shadow clinical and professional staff, and get first-hand experience in what it’s like to work at a hospital.
What we offer
Eastern Health is one of the largest metropolitan health services in Victoria and supports your health career aspirations by providing work experience opportunities in:
- Aboriginal Health
- Allied Health Therapies (eg Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology)
- Allied Health Sciences (eg Medical Imaging, Pharmacy, and Pathology)
- Information Technology
- Medical
- Mental Health
- Nursing
- People and Culture (eg Human Resources)
Placements are available at most of our hospital sites including Angliss, Blackburn, Box Hill, Maroondah, Murrenda, Peter James Centre and Wantirna. Your site allocation is dependant on the clinical area you are assigned to.
We welcome applications from students of all year levels, but priority will be supportive of Year 10 students.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the people who organised the program. It really was better that I could have imagined. Everyone was so nice and really took the time to explain things and show me things. Thank you again! 2023 Year 10 Work Experience Student
