Graduate Enrolled Nurse (EN) Program

Our 12-month Enrolled Nurse Program will support you to become a confident health professional and valued member of the health care team in a great learning environment.
We offer many opportunities to continue to develop your skills and confidence with supportive managers, preceptors, educators and clinical support nurses as you begin a rewarding career in nursing.
Program Information
Intakes & Rotations
- Two intakes per year commencing in March and September
- 12-month program consisting of two 6-month rotations
- Optional third rotation in an acute setting via expression of interest (program extension)

Second rotation
- Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM)
- Rehabilitation
Optional third rotation (program extension)
- Acute Ward
- Application via expression of interest on completion of second rotation.

- Formal qualification leading to condition free AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse

We are now accepting applications for our Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program (General Nursing) – September 2026 intake.
Open to newly registered, or soon to be registered ENs, looking to commence their careers in one of Melbourne’s largest public health services.
Your questions answered
Which intake and ward will I be allocated to?
Applications open twice per year, prior to the next intake. We recommend you apply if ready to commence when the next intake starts.
Graduates will commence their first rotation in RACS. Location preferences will be considered for the second rotation in GEM or Rehab.
Please remember as an Eastern Health employee your location may be at any of our EN graduate sites, however we take preferences and residential locations into consideration where possible.
How many study days will I receive?
You’ll receive three paid study days during your program.
How may supernumerary days will I receive?
You’ll receive six supernumerary days to support you in your transition.
How do I apply?
Applications to the Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program are via application to advertised positions on the Eastern Health careers portal.

I'm an international student, can I apply?
Yes, international students (Victorian or Australian trained) with a Diploma of Nursing qualification can apply for a position in our graduate programs.
Please ensure you are eligible for a visa with full working rights for the duration of your graduate program.
