Nursing Pathways

The General Nursing Pathway is 12-months in duration, this includes two 6-month clinical rotations.

Pathway Overview

This pathway will offer you great learning experiences in a variety of clinical areas to solidify your foundational skills and positively challenge your growth and development as a Registered Nurse in our team.

You will be challenged through inter professional study days and reflective practice to develop holistically as a nursing professional. We are here to support you to be your best.

Your Questions Answered

Can I request my rotation preference?

Yes, when you are successful in obtaining a position in our program, we send you a survey to select your preferences for areas for your rotations and intakes.
All successful applicants are employed by Eastern Health so you may be allocated to any one of our sites. Whilst we cannot guarantee sites, areas or intake, we certainly take into consideration your preferences and residential location.

How many supernumerary days will I receive?

As a guide, three supernumerary days are offered upon commencement of employment in addition to an orientation program. Supernumerary days will vary depending on rotation with some areas offering up to 10 days of supernumerary time. We will work with you closely to ensure that you are well supported throughout this time.

I'm an international student, can I apply?

Yes, international students can apply for a position in any of our pathways via the same process as local students.

How do I apply?

As a public health service, Eastern Health participates in the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Graduate Nursing and Midwifery Program match.
