How to Apply

As a public health service, Eastern Health participates in the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Graduate Nursing and Midwifery Program match.

Two-step application process

As a public health service Eastern Health are bound by the rules of PMCV. Therefore, all positions are offered through the match process in the first instance.

This is a two-step process for all graduate nursing and midwifery pathways.

  1. Apply directly to Eastern Health’s PMCV job advertisements in our careers portal.
  2. Register and apply to the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Graduate Nursing and Midwifery Program match.

 

Key dates for the application process are aligned with the PMCV dates. Please refer to PMCV for more information and to register.

Step 1 - Eastern Health application

Your Eastern Health Application (EH-Mercury) must include all of the following:

  • Cover letter – maximum 1 page
  • Resume/CV – maximum 2 pages
  • A table summary of clinical placements with the placement dates and type
  • Certified copy of your latest academic transcript with grading key, or eQuals transcript (this does not need to be certified, but please download a copy of your transcript as we can’t access web links)
  • 2 x clinical appraisals most relevant to your preferred pathway as outlined in the following table:

Step 2 - PMCV registration and application

Candidates applying for all Eastern Health Graduate Nursing and Midwifery pathways, must complete the following steps:

  • Read the GNMP Match Rules and familiarise yourself with the process
  • Review all key dates and mark them in your calendar
  • Register with PMCV for the GNMP Match
  • Follow the application steps to submit your Health Service/Pathway preferences
  • Provide the contact details of two clinical referees (ensure they’re aware you have their most recent contact details and are aware you have provided them as a referee)
